Nigerian Dwarf Goats

In addition to alpacas, Gumnut Valley Alpacas also breed Nigerian Dwarf Goats. Two years ago we started with two girls, Sugar & Spice and somehow that has now blown out to around twenty goats.

We have well and truly fallen in love with these cheeky and naughty animals that are full of character, affection and sass. One of the most joyful and heartwarming things we love about them are the birthings and watching the kids grow, play and frolic. As we can’t keep them all (not for lack of trying) and with the next lot of kids coming through soon, we have to release some of our babies, big and small.

We are registered with the Australian All Breeds of Miniature Goat and Sheep Society, and we are moving towards assessing our animals for CAE and Johne’s disease.

All goats born on our property have been disbudded by our vet and all males have been banded. They are weaned of Mum and bottle fed at 4 weeks of age to allow them to become super friendly pets.
