Alpaca Workshops

ALPACA WORKSHOPS

Gumnut Valley Alpacas run workshops for those interested in alpacas and those who already have alpacas but unsure about their care needs. These mini workshops run for an hour with the option to attend one or both workshops.

We provide a complimentary morning tea in between sessions and there is an opportunity to meet some of our gorgeous alpacas for sale. We have a range of pets, herd guards, lawn mowers, wethers, breeding females & pregnant females available.

Introduction to Alpacas Workshop

This workshop is designed for potential alpaca buyers and covers everything from the history of alpacas to paddock set up, handling, haltering and moving alpacas, feeding requirements and general healthcare.

Husbandry Workshop

This workshop is tailored to new alpaca owners and provides information about halter training, body scoring, worm management, vaccines and supplements, shearing, mating and wound care with demonstrations of toenail clipping, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections and oral drenching

These workshops are offered for a nominal fee of $27.50pp to genuinely interested people living on acreage with no obligation to buy from us. Sadly we have taken in far too many neglected and unwanted alpacas in the past few years and would rather educate people than rescue another neglected alpaca.
