Silkie Chickens

 As well as Huacaya Alpacas and Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Gumnut Valley also breeds Silkie chickens. With their compact size, placid temperament, quirky personalities and fluffy mop tops, they are the perfect addition to our farm.

We separate our silkies by colour and each rooster has 6 girlfriends in matching white, black, buff or splash colours. They regularly get preventative mite treatments and worm tablets to ensure optimum health.

Depending on availability, we can offer silkies for sale in a range of different life stages:

All eggs, chicks and juveniles are sold unsexed, and only pullets, point of lay and laying hens are guaranteed female. Please note that any obvious roosters are removed from sale, so the older the chicken, the higher the chance of it being a hen. Please get in touch for more information or to check availability.
