Rescue and Surrender

We are passionate about ensuring that any and all alpacas are safe, healthy and happy. It breaks our heart to see neglected animals and where possible, we will step in to save them from a certain death, attend to all their health, shearing and husbandry needs before finding a loving forever home for them.

Unfortunately most issues stem from either backyard breeders who put profits before the welfare of their animals or people buying alpacas but neglecting to educate themselves on how to properly care for them.

At Gumnut Valley Alpacas, we strongly believe in educating people around the needs of alpacas, both before purchase, as well as once on property. We offer affordable introduction and husbandry workshops to ensure people can make informed decisions regarding what is required to keep alpacas, how to care for them and provide for their health needs.

If you have alpacas and can’t provide the appropriate care for them, or you know of some alpacas that are neglected, please get in contact with us. We are always happy to assist, either through education, support and advice, husbandry or surrender of alpacas, to give them a second chance of life.
